Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz at the Castro

Sing-A-Long Wizard of OzThe Castro Theater is welcoming quite possibly the craziest, zaniest celebration that you may have the opportunity to see and participate in this entire year. The Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz is running March 12-25 and is being hosted by Connie Champagne. On opening night, the show offered a special guest appearance by "munchkin" Margaret Pellegrini and movie critic for KORN Jan Wahl. On the 18th the show will feature a Toto look-a-like contest.

Follow the yellow brick road as Connie Champagne hosts Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz, the new, interactive theatrical film experience based on the most beloved motion picture of all time. Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz, comes to Castro Theatre, March 12-25. For tickets contact Ticketweb.

Opening Night, Friday, March 12 will be hosted by KRON's Jan Wahl. Munchkin Margaret Pellegrini, who appeared in the Wizard of Oz, will be a special guest. Also there will be a special performance from nationally renowned Dorothy Gale interpreter Elaine Horn. Partial Proceeds from the evening benefit Frameline. On Thursday, March 18 there will be a one-night only Toto Look-A-Like Contest with special guest judges from SF SPCA and PAWS, hosted by Jan Wahl. Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz is a splashy night of theatre and film mixed with a festive costume-filled celebration. This Oscar-winning film will be presented as never seen before fully restored for the big screen. Sing-A-Long Wizard of Oz invites audiences of all ages to celebrate the story of Dorothy and her fantastical journey through Oz by joining in and singing along to some of history's best-known and loved songs (subtitled for new fans) in a theatre filled with audience members dressed up as Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, The Wicked Witch of the West and other favorite Wizard of Oz characters.
